Newsweek magazine has a simple yet effective title.
With a read background, and white text,(sometimes behind a black canvas), can be effective to draw the viewer's attention and can be recognized at first glance.
Their subjects on the cover can interest many, for having the strangest, or the dumbest story title.
Ex: "The first gay president" (Obama supports gay marriage, but not actually homosexual), "Is your baby racist"
Besides the Title and the Misleading Text, the cover background tends to have a celebrity's face, or an image with a "artistic" photo.
